mValent Secures Additional Funding to Support Rapid Growth of the Company

Follows Successful Market Entry of mValent Integrity, the Appointment of Software Industry Veteran as CEO and the Signing of New System Integrators

BURLINGTON, Mass., December 5, 2005 — mValent, the leader in automated application configuration management software, today announced that it has secured $6 million in additional funding as a closed round from top-tier investors Charles River Ventures, IDG Ventures, and Polaris Venture Partners, bringing the total invested capital to more than $20 million. The new funding will enable mValent to continue to expand sales and marketing to support the traction being experienced with mValent Integrity, the third generation of the company’s automated solution to a pressing enterprise IT issue – configuring the applications infrastructure that supports new vital business initiatives such as CRM, portals and supply chains.

mValent has marked the company’s expansion with additional recent announcements including the appointment of Joe Forgione – a software industry veteran – as President and CEO and the signing of leading WebSphere system integrators Prolifics and CIG.

Following a trend by enterprise IT to automate manual and error-prone tasks – such as network management and server provisioning – mValent has taken the lead on addressing the automation of application configurations. Customers report that automating with mValent’s solutions has reduced IT workload by over 50% with fewer errors, more uptime and considerably reduced operational costs.
