David Litwack to Board of Directors


Highly Respected Software Industry Pioneer Brings
Renowned Expertise to mValent

Burlington, MA – April 24, 2006 –mValent, Inc., a leader in automated application configuration management software, today announced that technology leader David Litwack has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Best known as the Founder of PowerSoft, Litwack brings more than 25 years of technology leadership to mValent’s Board and will be instrumental in helping to drive the company’s continued growth and implementation of its strategic vision.

Litwack most recently held senior executive positions at Novell (NASDAQ: NOVL) where he was responsible for the development and advancement of the company’s identity-driven computing strategy. He joined Novell in 2002 following its acquisition of SilverStream Software, where he served as President and CEO since 1997. Prior to joining SilverStream, he served as Executive Vice President at Sybase following the company’s acquisition of PowerSoft Corporation in 1995. Litwack was Founder and President of PowerSoft, where he drove the client/server revolution with PowerBuilder, one of the most popular development tools of all time. He is a graduate of Brandeis University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, and holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Boston University.
